What is an Amazon Catalog Specialist?

An Amazon Catalog Specialist is a detail-oriented professional responsible for managing and optimizing product listings to ensure visibility, accuracy, and compliance on Amazon Seller Central. They monitor account health, address performance notifications, and handle case management to maintain smooth catalog operations.

The role encompasses listing management, keyword research, competitor analysis, and performance tracking to maximize product visibility and sales. By leveraging their knowledge of Amazon policies and tools, Catalog Specialists ensure that listings align with best practices while addressing customer feedback and market trends.

Job Duties
  • Monitor Amazon Account Health: Check Performance notifications in Amazon Seller Central. Amazon Case Management & Follow Through.
  • Manage Listing: Ensure listing elements are active (Title,  Bullets,  product description / EBC or A+). Listing creation/revision/flat file upload. Parent/Child Mapping.
  • Perform Keyword Research / Optimize Listing: Listing Optimization, write optimized listing content (titles, bullet points, search terms, alt text images, and product descriptions).  Create Listing Copy via Data Dive, Competitor Research, and Manage Experiment.
  • Monitor ASIN Performance: Track BSR, # of ratings, Average ratings, # of reviews, CVR, sessions, units sold. Ensure listing elements are active (Title,  Bullets,  product description / EBC or A+). Listing creation/revision/flat file upload.
  • Generate Returns Report: Regularly review returns reports to identify trends, reasons for returns, and any potential issues with product quality or customer satisfaction. Use insights from the report to make necessary adjustments to product listing.
