Bookkeeper Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team, ensuring the seamless management of our financial operations. As a Bookkeeper, you will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, from reconciling accounts to preparing financial statements, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will also collaborate with vendors, clients, and the internal team to oversee payments, manage expenses, and support tax reporting. Your expertise will contribute to the financial stability and growth of the company.
In this role, you will:
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to reporting requirements, such as State Sales Tax and Workers' Compensation Reconciliation.
- Transaction Review: Organize and review accounting transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Payroll Processing: Manage payroll runs for clients, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Reconcile accounts and prepare financial statements for internal and client use.
- Accounts Receivable: Monitor payments, issue notices, and coordinate subsidy program transactions.
- Payment Management: Process various payment methods (cash, credit card, ACH) and record deposits accurately.
- Expense Oversight: Track and manage company and property expenses.
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, manage purchase orders, and oversee payment tracking.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Quality Control: Conduct weekly reviews of payables and receivables to ensure accuracy.
- Vendor and Utility Management: Review bills and ensure proper payments.
- Tax Coordination: Collaborate with the CPA on annual tax reporting, providing analytical support.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role, preferably in the media industry.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger management.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and GSuite.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to build revenue models and forecast financial trends.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in financial tasks and document management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with financial practices in the media or digital sectors.
- Process Improvement: Experience streamlining financial processes and ensuring efficiency.
