Financial Analyst Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our team and play a key role in shaping the financial success of our real estate portfolio. In this role, you will conduct in-depth financial analyses, develop robust financial models, and create actionable insights to support investment decisions and property performance optimization.

You will collaborate with management to drive strategic financial planning, monitor property performance, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement. If you have a passion for real estate finance and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to have you on our team.

In this role, you will: 

  • Analyze Financial Data: Review and assess income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for real estate properties.
  • Develop Financial Models: Create models to forecast performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate potential scenarios.
  • Monitor Financial Performance: Track property performance metrics, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Identify Trends and Insights: Analyze financial data to detect patterns, trends, and key performance indicators to guide decision-making.
  • Optimize Costs: Identify areas to reduce costs and improve the financial outcomes of real estate investments.
  • Support Strategic Planning: Provide management with financial forecasts and insights to guide long-term planning and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare Reports: Develop and present financial reports, dashboards, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Enhance Processes: Drive process improvements within the finance function to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: Proven experience as a Financial Analyst, preferably in the real estate industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software (e.g., Yardi, MRI Software).
  • Analytical Skills: Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation, reporting, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial forecasting, corporate finance, and real estate finance principles.
  • Industry Awareness: Knowledge of current financial topics, accounting standards, tax laws, and real estate trends.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or similar.
  • Experience with real estate portfolio analysis or REIT financial management.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and advanced Excel techniques for financial modeling.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
